President Obama is actually a bigger tax-cutter than President Bush. The difference is that the Obama tax cuts mainly benefit the bottom 80% of income earners and the Bush tax cuts mainly benefit the top 20%. The Obama tax cuts are specifically tailored to encourage companies to hire and consumers to spend; economist say tax cuts at the top don’t have that effect, unless you’re counting spending at duty-free stores on the way to European vacations.
